Curated by Lolita Cros

Sotheby’s is proud to announce the sixth edition of the NOW! sale which will take place exclusively online in February 2020. Having met a sharp success over the past five years, NOW! is a clever blend of contemporary, photographs, African and Oceanic and design works.

For the sixth edition, the New York based independent curator Lolita Cros will team up with Sotheby’s to imagine an original scenography and highlight her remarkable selection of works. She grew up in France before spending a few years in Casablanca, Morocco and is now living and working in New York. Lolita Cros is known for creating projects and exhibitions that combine work by both established and emerging artists. With each project she proposes an alternative venue that asks the viewer to revisit their expectations and look at the work through a new and unique lens. In 2017, she became the curator and consultant for all current and upcoming spaces of women's club The Wing. Artists, exclusively feminine, featured in The Salon at The Wing include Marilyn Minter, Jenny Holzer and Senga Nengudi among many others.

The NOW! 2020 sale will gather a selection of paintings and objects whose estimates range from 500 to 50 000 euros signed by illustrious Contemporary artists such as Hartung, Rashid Johnson and Pincemin, a Sénufo statue from the Ivory Coast, design objects by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand, Jacques Duval-Brasseur and photographs from the acclaimed Peter Lindbergh, Peter Beard, Richard Prince and Liu Bolin. The choice of works in the upcoming auction will enable both amateurs and collectors alike to find their perfect match.
